New Slideshow - Aux Morts

This is a slideshow I have been planning to do for quite some time, I have just been waiting for a chance to go to Paris and photograph some of the cemeteries on the continent.

The Purton Hulks

I have been after some infrared shots for some time now, infrared at this site is dependant on two factors, a good sky, and the nice lush spring green grass. I spent a day here with Barry and Carol Beckham, where the conditions were...well judge for your self.

Papplewick Pumping Station

This is Britain's finest Victorian Water Works and the only one in the Midlands to be preserved as a complete working water pumping station.

Steam Trains

Steam Trains remind me of a way of life that was a bit different then its was today, when the pace of life was a little bit slower, and people were far less uptight about where you went

Crofton Beam Engines

Crofton Beam Engines is the first house built beam engines I ever saw and where I got the bug for photography way back in 1975. Needles to say my early attempts at recording our legacy did not amount to much with an instamatic camera

The Purton Hulks

The Purton Hulks site is a must see site, not only does the River Severn have it's own weather system, it also has it's own atmosphere, and the only way to experience it is to go there

more information

This site is dedicated to the various places and people that have left us with a Legacy. A Legacy from the past and a Legacy for the future. I did not like the way history was taught at school, we were taught all there is to know about kings and queens, and how James Watt invented the steam engine (which he did not). What I was always interested in  was what makes us what we are today, the journey we took to get here, and where we go from here. This journey involves the lives of very ordinary people, the ordinary people who sweated in factories, down coal mines, or venturing out to sea in the most appalling conditions, using technology that we now consider ancient. It also includes the innovative inventors, the entrepreneurs and people who staked everything they had or owned, to develop something that they believed in.
